Increased room occupancy and significant earnings have induced the hoteliers to upgrade their properties with new look and style. The Sheraton Gunter Hotel, San Antonio is also going to go for a make over with Ralph Lauren flair.
The Sheraton Gunter Hotel is a classic, historic property located just across the street from the world famous Riverwalk. It is one of the most storied landmarks in the city of San Antonio. San Antonio is the eighth largest city in the US and is predominantly Hispanic. It is a quiet and friendly place with abundant Tex-Mex restaurants and plenty of billboards in Spanish.
The Sheraton Gunter Hotel has retained its timeless elegance in form of antique furnishings, crystal chandeliers, dark woods and design of the early 20th century. At the same time it also offers up to date room amenities and property amenities. At present 10th floor and 11th floor are being renovated. All 322 rooms and interior public spaces are waiting to get new colors, furniture, carpets and accessories. The lobby would retain the historical look with very subtle modern touch up. The new color scheme for the interiors would feature deep blue in combination of rust reds and rich camel tone. Total project cost is estimated around $7 million dollars and would be completed by the end of July. The official grand opening is scheduled in the month of September.
New York-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc is the owner of the Sheraton franchise. San Diego-based American Property Management Corp owns and manages the hotel and Raineri, owner of San Antonio-based Custom Interiors is responsible for the aesthetic fusion of antique with contemporary.
