UPS Store Considered Most Competitive Retailer

The UPS Store has the biggest competitive advantage among retailers in the United States this year, according to a new study released by the National Retail Federation. Conducted by the Kanbay Research Institute, the study found that the top 10 most competitive retailers have generated a return on invested capital three times higher than other retailers at 15.43 percent versus 5.03 percent since 2001. The UPS Store tops the list, followed by Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Walgreens, Kenneth Cole, Petco, Kohl's, Target, Men's Wearhouse and PetSmart.The companies on the most competitive list had to meet two conditions throughout all five years: a relatively stable or increasing market share and a high return on invested capital.
