Mr Ronnies Donuts Partners with Francorp

CHICAGO – Francorp chairman Donald Boroian said he is so impressed with Ronnie’s Famous Hot Donuts in Houma, Louisiana; he will personally head up the company’s project to franchise the concept across the country.

“This is a fantastic concept! the renowned franchise development consultant declared yesterday, after flying down to Louisiana to see Mr Ronnie’s operation. Boroian met with the Picou family who started the business 17 years ago.

Ronnie Picou began his career in the donut business in 1976 as a franchisee of Tastee Donut franchise system. But when he parted ways with the franchisor, he left with the mantra of “Only the Best” and opened his first Mr Ronnie’s Hot Donuts location on March 19, 1994. Specializing in hot glazed donuts around the clock, 24/7, he felt they could meet the needs of their customers. Today, with the addition of sliders and fries, pecan praline éclairs and red velvet cake donuts, his 1950s style diner has caught on.

Now with the family’s decision to partner with Francorp, self-proclaimed to be the “industry leading franchise development and consulting firm,” his dreams of becoming a national brand are formulating. When asked why his company is franchising, he said the answer was unanimous across the board from all owners, their customers. “Many customers that moved away from Houma have returned to tell us that we should open a Mr Ronnie’s here or there,” one family member said. She explained that they had always thought about franchising, but never knew how to take the next step to make it a reality.

Boroian is planning to focus on creating a regional circle around the donut company’s original location in Houma, to allow the franchise system to grow off a strong support base. It will eventually reach into the Gulf Coast Sunbelt region to West of Houston, Texas. Francorp states that once Mr Ronnie’s system grows, it will concentrate on its ultimate goal of franchising in all 50 states.

Francorp has announced that the Picou’s have received hundreds of inquiries in the short time Mr Ronnie’s Famous Hot Donuts has been accepting information for future locations.

The franchise consulting firm’s regional director, Rocky McMillian discovered the donut concept while in Louisiana. He immediately called Boroian and exclaimed, “You have got to fly down here and see this operation.” McMillian will be handling the franchise sales for Mr Ronnie’s.
