ATLANTA—Hooters unveiled a new logo as part of its 30th anniversary celebration yesterday. The logo, "Hootie," had its old ruffled feathers smoothened.
"We have already tested the contemporary design of the new Hootie with our customers and it was preferred 9 to 1 over our original logo, which will become part of our brand heritage," said Dave Henninger, chief marketing officer, Hooters of America. "As we welcome more guests through our doors, the logo refresh is one more enhancement that provides a glimpse of the future and helps us build on our 30-year history," added Henninger.
Replacing the old icon (see adjacent photo), the refreshed Hootie will be rolled out systematically on new menus in select markets in August as well as on Hooters Girl tank tops over the upcoming months. The new look was first revealed at the grand opening of Hooters in the Shanghai City Center in China last week, where the new logo appeared on banners and signage. The upgraded image is slated to appear on everything from menus and merchandise to store signage and digital platforms.
The new look coincides with Hooters' new restaurant design that was introduced earlier this year with a remodeled Hooters in Kirby, Texas and the new Hooters of Slidell, Louisiana, just outside New Orleans. All future remodeled locations will have the new logo on interior and exterior signage and materials.
Viewers who tuned in to the 30th Anniversary Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant premiere Wednesday night received the first glimpse of the new Hooters logo. An encore presentation of the Hooters pageant will air on FOX-Speed TV on Sunday, July 21 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
Those who are in attendance for the Hooters World Wing-Eating Championship on July 25 at the Original Hooters of Clearwater, Florida will also see the new logo application on the Hooters Girl tank tops.
