Popeye's Chief Executive Officer Resigns
No sooner did the brouhaha between Popeye's Chicken (AFC Enterprises) and Church's Chicken break out this week when Popeye's CEO Kenneth Keymer on Friday announced his resignation effective March 30. The board has engaged an executive search firm to find a suitable replacement. Meanwhile, the company's CFO, Mr. Frederick Beilstein, will take over as the interim Chief Executive Officer. Concerning his resignation Mr. Keymer stated, "Deciding to resign was a very difficult decision, but I am at the point where I wanted to devote more time to personal interests and family considerations."
Don't you love corporate speak? It's very polite.
Mr. Keymer was appointed President of AFC Enterprises in June 2004, and became CEO in September 2005. From November 1992 to December 2004, AFC Enterprises owned both Church's and Popeyes.
