Dunkin' Sues Franchisee Over Illegal Immigrants

Says Franchise Knowingly Violated Federal Immigration and Employment Laws

Dunkin' Donuts head office appears to be cracking down on illegal immigrants working at its franchises. Dunkin' Brands, Inc. is accusing one franchisee in West Concord, Massachussetts of not complying with labor laws. Filing a lawsuit against the franchise, the giant donut and coffee chain wants to pull its franchise agreement.

In its suit, Dunkin’ states West Concord Donuts, “knowingly and purposefully breached” its franchise agreement by “violating” federal immigration and employment laws at its shop. The suit said owners “knowingly accepted false identification documents” for hiring purposes.
