New Horizons Appoints New CEO

New Horizons Worldwide, a global IT training chain, has named Mr. Mark Miller as its new CEO and a member of its Board of Directors. In the meantime, Mr. Tom Bresnan will remain in the position of president until his planned departure at the end of the month.

Miller faces a number of immediate business challenges with a backload of financial statements due, poor same-store sales and declining shareholder wealth. Amidst the difficulties, New Horizons has received at least some good marketing news of late when the chain was recognized by Microsoft as the largest network of gold certified partners for IT learning.

Miller has held numerous large corporate assignments and in particular franchising, as President of Nutri/System and as Chairman and Vice President, Operations of a franchisee in a national franchise system. Miller received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

"The board selected Mark based on his extensive experience in the franchising industry as well as his record of successfully driving revenue growth in business and consumer services." said Curtis Lee Smith, Chairman of the Board. "His past experience and accomplishments demonstrate that Mark has the ability to expand the New Horizons network and bring value to both shareholders and franchisees."
