CKE Sells 38 Carl's Jr. Restaurants for $10.7 Million
CARPINTERIA, CA -- CKE Restaurants, Inc. announced on Friday the sale of 38 company-operated Carl's Jr. restaurants in Oklahoma and Wichita Falls, TX for $10.7 million. Star Chasers Oklahoma, Oklahoma Territories, LLC, and an existing franchisee of several restaurants are among its buyers. The buyers will operate the purchased corporate units as franchisees and will also develop 10 additional Carl's Jr. restaurants in the area.In a press release, Andrew Puzder, president and chief executive officer of CKE Restaurants, Inc., said, "We are transferring our Oklahoma market to a group of well respected operators who are committed to grow the Carl's Jr. franchise in the region. The sale of these restaurants also allows the Company to place more focus on our core markets."
