RadioShack Lays Off 403 Via Email

The digital age is here. So is the electronic pink slip.

In a move that some in the corporate world may deem unacceptable, RadioShack Corp. laid off 403 employees at its Fort Worth headquarters Tuesday via e-mail. The message stated, "The work force reduction notification is currently in progress. Unfortunately your position is one that has been eliminated."

"We wanted to treat our employees with as much dignity and respect as possible," RadioShack's designated spokesperson Ms. Jackson explained to the press, turning up the corporate-speak to high volume.

This just might incentivize the rest of us not to read our email, Or put a chair through the computer monitor.  The Dallas Morning News provides more detail.
