Bennigan's Grill & Tavern Opens in Acapulco, Mexico

New restaurant located in the Hotel Zone in a new Commercial Area

(Acapulco, Mexico) – September 30, 2008 – Bennigan’s Franchising Company is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest Bennigan’s Grill & Tavern franchise location in Acapulco, Mexico, continuing the overseas expansion of the brand.

Bennigan’s brings to Acapulco an exciting option for tourists and local residents to enjoy a familiar ambiance with an Irish touch, offering a diverse menu loaded with salads, burgers, steak and chicken entrees, sandwiches and desserts - a distinctive restaurant compared with the traditional restaurants found in Acapulco.

The newest Bennigan’s restaurant for Consorcio Intra in Mexico features a 5,380-square foot building and features an extensive modern bar, an outdoor terrace with ample seating, flat-screen TVs  with great views from anywhere in the restaurant and seating for up to 191 customers.

Bennigan’s Acapulco also has a whole different style. “We are refreshing and adapting the architecture and the restaurant’s decor to give it a new look, while at the same time retaining the Irish Tavern essence that Bennigan’s is recognized for,” said Ruben Rodriguez, Architect of Consorcio Intra and developer of new projects.

Bennigan’s is located on the first level of a new commercial center in front of the newly opened One Hotel on the famous Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue at the intersection of Costa Azul -within walking distance to the beach. The restaurant’s large glass windows offer an incredible view of the hotel zone, mountains in the distance and the famous avenue below. People walking or driving by can see everything inside from the large TV’s to the action in the bar to the relaxed atmosphere on the patio. It’s a great place for people who are looking to enjoy a great dinner, an ice gold Guinness beer, or a famous D’Bennigan’s Frozen Margarita while watching their favorite sports team in the innovatively designed bar, which is the main attraction of the restaurant. The terrace is also a very relaxing and comfortable place to spend an evening.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Bennigan’s franchisee Consorcio Restaurantero Athene of Mexico and is their eighth Bennigan’s in Mexico, with other locations planned for next year.

Consorcio Intra operates Bennigan’s franchises in the cities of Veracruz, Merida, CD Del Carmen, Puebla, Villahermosa, Coatzacoalcos, Cancun, and Acapulco. Future units are planned for Tuxtla Gutierrez, a second location in Cancun, and Mexico City in 2009.
