Former NFL Player Orlando Brown Opens D.C. Fatburger

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Blue MauMau) - Orlando Brown, former offensive tackle for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens, has opened his first Fatburger franchise on Monday in Elkridge, Maryland. He signed an agreement back in the middle of 2008 with Fatburger to open 10 burger franchises throughout D.C. and its suburbs in six years.

Brown fell in love with the business after the food was recommended to him by another NFL athlete who knew of Brown’s love for good burgers. He was an instant fan and knew he did not want to fly to Atlanta every time he craved a Fatburger and fries. Having now bought the business some ten times over, he can now save travel fare and enjoy the burgers in his hometown of D.C.

Orlando Brown is known for an incident in which he was hit in the eye by a referee's penalty marker in a Cleveland Browns versus the Jacksonville Jaguars game. Forced to sit out three seasons, he sued for $200 million and later reportedly settled with the NFL for some $25 million.

One patron of the newest Fatburger restaraunt blogged on Monday, observing, "We had everybody from the manager on down coming by and asking how things were and if we needed anything. A very friendly group. While we were eating, a reporter and cameraman from Comcast Sports came in, taking shots of the inside and the happy patrons eating. They also interviewed people, asking about the Ravens and the tie-in with Orlando Brown."
