Franchise veterans leading two-day seminar on turning a small business into a franchise

Business Owners To Learn “How To Franchise A Business” April 16-17 in West Palm Beach

MARCH 7, 2009 --  “How do I franchise my business?” . . . It’s a question frequently asked by small businesses, especially when they’re popular and especially when their owners hear customers say they’d enjoy owning the same kind of business. And that will be the focus of a two-day “How To Franchise Your Business” seminar April 16-17 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Hundreds of businesses become franchise companies every year in the United States and the numbers will likely increase during the next several years for one simple reason: Franchising is a way to expand a business by using someone else’s money. That is, franchisees put up the money to open new units, saving the franchisor the expense of doing so.

“When it’s done right, franchising is the greatest marketing and distribution method available to businesses,” said John P. Hayes, Ph.D., founder of Franchise Masterminds (www.franchisemastermind.com). Dr. Hayes will lead the “How To Franchise Your Business” seminar. “Doing it right isn’t easy, however, but it’s necessary if the franchise company intends to maintain integrity with franchisees and to have staying power in the marketplace.”

Hayes, along with Florida franchisors Ray Titus and Tony Foley, of United Franchise Group (www.unitedfranchisegroup.com) in West Palm Beach, will teach prospective franchisors the right methodology for succeeding in franchising. The two-day program will include all of the steps that a business owner needs to follow to franchise a business.

Topics to be covered include:

• Are you ready to franchise?

• How do you build an organization?

• What should I charge for my fees?

• Do I need to hire an outside firm or can I do it myself?

• Why franchising is the best way to grow a business?

As the former CEO of America’s #1 home buying company, HomeVestors, the We Buy Ugly Houses® company, and as an advisor to more than 100 franchise companies in the last 30 years, Dr. Hayes has helped hundreds of companies expand through franchising.
