7-Eleven Says Consumers Have Changed

cigarette

7-Eleven's CEO Joe DePinto says that customer habits are changing. They are penny pinching during economically difficult times. Here's how they are adjusting:

  • Why buy a six-pack of beer when an 18 pack can make one feel better during dark times and its cheaper per beer?

  • Mountain Dew's big gulp of jolt is in. Expensive energy drinks are out.

  • The 62-cent federal cigarette tax that kicked in April 1 have made pack-a-day customers become a pack every-three-day customers. But they are still getting their smoke. 7-Eleven says smoke rising from backyard grills is way up. Aaaahh!
