DryClean Becomes EnviroStar
MIAMI - One of the country’s largest dry cleaning franchise chains announced today that it has decided to change its brand name from DryClean USA, Inc. to EnviroStar, Inc.. With over 400 franchised outlets from Ohio to Florida, the laundry retailer will switch from trading under the symbol DCU to EVI as of December 31.
Chief Financial Officer Venerando Indelicato noted that the company, established since 1977, is changing its dry cleaning moniker to emphasize being an environmentally safe brand.
The brand DryClean USA has been ranked as an industry leader by such trade journals as Entrepreneur Magazine for several years.
The announcement comes after a disappointing quarter for the firm. The franchisor’s revenues decreased 46% in this past quarter compared to the same period last year. The company lost $70,898 in net earnings. Regarding the disappointing quarter, CFO Indelicato stated, “The loss in the first quarter was disappointing, but understandable, given the state of the current economy.”
