Legal Forum on Franchising Begins
SAN DIEGO – The 33rd Annual Forum on Franchising, a legal symposium organized by the American Bar Association for franchise attorneys, kicked off Wednesday at San Diego, California. Some 750 attendees have gathered at the Hotel Del Coronado to learn about developments in franchise law. That is only slightly lower than forum attendance before the recession hit.
Last year there was one individual who received the prestigious Lou Rudnick Award for outstanding contributions to franchise law and the ABA Forum on Franchising, John R.F. Baer. But this morning there were two winners — franchisee attorney Andrew Selden and franchisor attorney Rupert Barkoff. Friends.
Four hundred thirty individuals, mainly attorneys, gathered in the main ballroom Thursday morning. Attendees were equipped with a handheld voting device to select answers on a number of questions that were displayed on a screen in real time. Some of those questions have been recreated below.
