Aaron’s Getting It Terribly Wrong
OK; we are all being watched whether we like it or not but an Aaron's franchise has allegedly installed a spy into a customer's home. That might be considered inappropriate and extremely expensive.
Such is the case of Brian and Crystal Byrd, the couple who allege that a cyber-snooping component called PC Rental Agent was installed inside a Dell laptop in their home that they leased from a Casper, Wyo., Aaron’s franchise store.
Meanwhile in St. Louis an Aaron’s employee who claimed she was whacked on the head by her manager has been awarded $90 million in what is apparently the largest payout for a sexual harassment lawsuit in the US.
Aaron's bosses have always denied liability and are expected to lodge a formal appeal to the decision.
No doubt the Aaron's franchisor is wondering how to repair this level of brand damage.
