Americans Still Cutting Back on Spending
An online Harris Poll released on Wednesday shows that Americans continue to be budget-conscious. Almost half (48%) say they are brown-bagging lunch to economize. One in five (22%) have stopped purchasing coffee in the morning, and over one-third (38%) are going to the hairdresser/barber less often. In addition, more have considered such moves, but have not done so, at least not yet.
The Harris Poll breaks down these money-saving moves and more by age group and also shows how the percentages have changed over the last year, with the tendency to cut down on food and beverage purchases spreading.
