Being a Victim of Franchise Fraud Makes Me an Expert

It has been almost two years since our business collapsed.  Have things calmed down?  No they haven't.  In fact the reason why I am writing this blog is I felt I needed to tell future franchise wannabees more.

Signing a franchise agreement is very serious.  Before we signed a franchise agreement our lives were full, we were happy.  We had fantastic credit and enjoyed the luxury of maintaining a fabulous credit score and doing whatever we wanted when we wanted to.

Today our credit is destroyed.  We may loose our home because the loan company looks at us as a big risk.  Gone are the days where we could do whatever we wanted.  All it took was a signature on a franchise agreement.

Do not believe newspaper articles, magazines or advertising of the franchise of your choice.  Listen to those who have been burned or you will suffer tremendously.

No matter what happens I will never give up.  Seriously before you sign on the dotted line come down to earth and think worst case scenerio.  The worst happened to our family.  I do not want other's to experience the hell we have.  Two years later we are paying for our awful decision to trust a bad franchisor.  They have hurt us tremendously.  We have never lived pay check to pay check ever.

No matter how stupid we were it doesn't give franchisors the right to misrepresent people.  Our judicial system is not set up to protect the common layman.  It seems they protect the corporations that hurt the little guy.

Listen to the counselors on BMM.  They are full of wisdom and knowledge.  The great franchise attorneys are a small sector.  There is not one counselor here that I do not respect.

Hopefully BMM will prosper and many will be saved from a reality of only existing. It doesn't mean I will stop.  I will continue to look for opportunities and get out of this mess.  Remember signing a franchise agreement can destroy you financially.  Take your time.  Don't easily give up your comfortable living all because some salesperson makes it sound easy.  Nothing is easy.  Do not believe a salesperson just because he seems sincere.

If you don't proceed with caution you will suffer.  I do not want anyone to suffer like our family and many of thousands all over the world has suffered.  I am optimistic because all the hard lessons I have learned.  Do not give up your comfortable life for a franchise deal.  It is not worth the agony and pain associated with being duped.
