Big Business Hops onto Small Biz Bandwagon

Small business enjoys a good deal of support among the American public, judging from favorable comments highlighted in news stories about Small Business Saturday.

And whose great idea was Small Business Saturday? None other than business giant American Express!

Noting the bonhomie emanating from consumers towards small business, a few astute business giants have figured out ways to benefit from it — and quite clever they are, too. Wal-Mart is partnering with SCORE, the small business champion, to give $1,000 of merchandise nationwide to each of 102 small businesses. According to a company press release:

Sam's Club announced a series of grants and donations totaling $869,000 to support growth and success of U.S. small businesses and bring holiday cheer to business owners and families in need across the country.

UPS, FedEx and Google are also squeezing into the small business limelight.
