Internet Explorer 7.0 and QuickBooks

To the franchise community from a QuickBooks Certified Professional Advisor: Microsoft will soon be sending out an automatic update to Internet Explorer, replacing Internet Explorer 6 with Internet Explorer 7. This affects users of QuickBooks®: Simple Start, QuickBooks: Basic, QuickBooks: Pro, QuickBooks: Premier, and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. I am recommending that you decline the Internet Explorer 7 upgrade if you are currently using any version of QuickBooks earlier than QuickBooks 2006 Release 8 or QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 6, Release 8. Intuit has posted more information for you at this link.

This approach will make sure that you are able to continue to use QuickBooks without any interruptions of the user experience.

Accounting Tools of the Trade

Holding over 80 percent of the small business market share, it’s a given that QuickBooks is a popular accounting software solution. But for a business who needs specific features and functionality, QuickBooks isn’t everything for everyone. So how does a franchise create a customized accounting environment on a budget?Small business owners are looking beyond just an accounting system. Their businesses demand vertical-specific, back office functionality with an effective and efficient approach to information management. Intuit recognized it’s inability to service all areas of business, so it offered the developer community a chance to create solutions that integrated with QuickBooks using a software developer kit (SDK).

Meeting Mau Mau

So, I see this cute guy with a Hawaiian shirt on and he has this adorable fish with him at the 1st annual Detroit Franchise Show. I'm intrigued by the sun and warmth motif (did I mention I'm from Michigan?). I liked this Hawaiian rep even more because I wasn't accosted by a salesman, just someone who believed in spreading good news around to all the other fishes in the sea. I told him we are also out to spread good news....that there is someone who can actually standardize a franchisors accounting processes, be there at their beckon call of the franchisee for implementation and training, and we have a fun website (www.acctres.com)
