Boroian Sent to Solitary Confinement
Independent Investigation Underway
DULUTH, Minn - (Blue MauMau) According to responsible sources, Donald Boroian, founder and former president of Francorp, Inc., has now been placed in solitary confinement while serving a sentence for tax evasion at the Duluth Federal Prison Camp. Said one informant, "He has been sent to the hole." The current prison investigation conducted by officials outside of the Duluth facility has been stalled because of major snow storms preventing the team from completing its inquiry, but as soon as the hearing does take place his fate will be determined.
Sources close to Francorp's business operations say that although mail, financials, and reports from department heads are sent to Boroian every day, the screening process has been inadequate in identifying them as business documents. Boroian has instructed his staff not to mail anything to him that is on letterhead or company forms, and to send it without headers so it cannot be easily recognized by the prison screening process. Sources also confirm that Boroian's bills are still being paid by Francorp.

Running your business from prison!
Solitary Confinement seems harsh and we would all feel better if he was in solitary for cheating his employees or stealing from his clients. But, Uncle Sam has to carry a big stick to protect the public purse and I guess that's where Mr. Boroian belongs right now.

Some Will Welcome Boroian
Yes. Good point.
Judging from some of the posts here, there are a number of industry leaders that have tremendous respect for Boroian. He helped the AAFD to stick up for franchisees when it was not popular to do so. He has franchised many companies. I am certain that there are leaders in the industry with mixed feelings. They like him but at the same time he is a convicted felon who is still serving time. That limits his usefulness, particularly in any visible or leadership role - at least it should.

I guess it is time for us to back off and give Mr. Boroian some privacy and even wish him luck. If his business has survived, this is in the interests of his employees and his clients and the taxpaying public.
