BP Gas Station Windows Shot Out

Windows at a BP station in Southaven, Mississippi were shot out in the dark. Nothing was taken. The employees of the station believe the shooter was enraged over BP's polluting gusher in the Gulf of Mexico.

In New York City several BP signs have been vandalized.

The vast majority of the 12,000 BP gas stations in the U.S. are owned by independent business people, who are franchisees or small regional distributors. Industry sources say that they are primarily the ones who are being hurt, while BP itself remains relatively unscathed by vandalism and boycotts.

The Reverend Jesse Jackson is part of the chorus calling for a BP boycott. When it was pointed out by one of the Fox Business TV hosts in the following video that small businessmen would be hurt rather than BP, the reverend gave no hint of concern for them.
