Brenneman Speaks to Fox News About Unhappy Franchisees, New Sandwich

"If franchisee profitability goes up, everyone is just a lot happier."

NEW YORK CITY - Reporter Alexis Glick of Fox Business interviews Greg Brenneman about his first year on the job as CEO of Quiznos. Brenneman says that turning around Quiznos is about helping franchisees be profitable. (Click "read more" below to see video.)

Brenneman says, "A relationship with franchise owners is like relationships with your spouse or anybody else. You never get to a day when everybody declares it's perfect. So you just try to get better. We're much better now than we were a year ago. We'll be much better 6 months than we are now. But we've done a lot of things. We leave a voice mail everyday. I answer all my emails. Everyone does within 24-hours now. So we get back to people on a frequent basis. And most importantly we work on their profitability. What I've learned in business is that if franchisee profitability goes up everyone is just a lot happier."

Glick goes through a list of where Brenneman has wanted to focus to turn the Quiznos ship around:

  1. Improve restaurant profitability
  2. Focus growth on small towns where unit economics are better
  3. Develop more hit products
Mr. Brenneman gives a brief report card on how he has done so far.
