Burger King Tries Home Delivery
Responding to the challenge that Wendy's system-wide sales looks likely to overtake it this year, Burger King is test-driving a $2 home delivery service in the Washington D.C. area on orders of $8 and up.
Burger King has developed a "proprietary thermal packaging technology," says Jonathan Fitzpatrick, chief brand and operations officer for Burger King, "which ensures the Whopper is delivered hot and fresh, and the french fries are delivered hot and crispy." [via the Miami Herald]
"We wish them luck," said Domino's spokesperson Tim McIntyre to USAToday. "There is a reason that not all pizza places deliver: It isn't easy." Domino's delivers roughly 70% of its orders.
