Carlson Franchisees Help Develop Prototype

Carlson Hotels Worldwide will debut a new prototype for its Radisson brand. The new concept is a response to franchise owners' requests for new Radisson properties. A prototype will be presented to franchise owners in its beta state this week.  

Nancy Johnson, executive vice president of Carlson's full service hotels, revealed that the concept will have a new destination restaurant and a branded fitness room that includes an in-room fitness component. The company will work with fitness equipment firm Nautilus. Franchise owner and hotel guest feedback will be gathered this summer on how well the equipment fits their fitness concept.

Carlson is expected to invest a half billion dollars in its efforts to renovate existing hotels and globally realign the brand.
