Chicken Zees Get Reprieve
"It will not be until early next year that Perth businessman Gerundus Gerrit Heijne stands trial for the alleged wilful murder of his homosexual lover and business partner.
Mr Heijne, 44, made a brief appearance in the Supreme Court today. He has been in custody since January in relation to the death of 51 year old Frank Cianciosi.
The men were founders of the Lenard's Chicken store [franchise] chain in WA. The court was told that defence lawyers were seeking further information from the prosecution and that the trial was still not ready to proceed.
Mr Heijne will appear again on October 23, Justice John McKechnie said there were no trial dates available this year in the Supreme Court."
The chain's franchisees have struggled and may get some repreive with the founder gone.
