Chick-fil-A, the Harvard of Franchises?

According to their web page, Chick-fil-A accepts less than one percent of franchise inquiries a year. That’s tougher than getting into Harvard, which has close to a 10% acceptance rate.
Out of 10,000 franchise inquiries per year, the franchising firm accepts only 75 - 80. That means only 0.75% – 0.8% can be the privileged few. Yowza!
Chick-fil-A says its owner-operators benefit from a franchise turnover rate that is less than 5% per year. To give perspective, that’s a better rate than most small businesses, where on a ten-year straight-line scale, close to 7% fail a year.
