Domino's Doyle is CNBC's Best CEO of 2011

CNBC picks Patrick Doyle, Domino's Pizza president and CEO, as its number one main man for 2011. Doyle is the recipient of the first "Berbie" award.

Mr. Doyle uses much of the interview to speak about the franchises in his system and their concerns. What's the secret to the franchisor's success? "What makes us a great company is that we focus on their (franchisees) profits," declares Doyle, answering some well-informed questions from reporters and award-givers Herb Greenberg and Brian Sullivan.

Insiders tell Blue MauMau that Domino's franchise owners generally have seen an improvement in collaboration over the last five years, despite a tough economy and squeezed store profits. This is a brand that works closely with franchisees and their independent franchisee association, which participates in important brand meetings to shape strategy.

CNBC reports that Doyle led the reduction of Domino's total debt by $200 million since the end of 2007. The firm's stock (NYSE: DPZ) is up 110 percent year-to-date.
