I'm curious whether anyone has experience in converting their dealers to franchisees, or whether anyone has been a dealer that was converted to a franchisee?

Conversion
In my experience, it's mainly been an exercise in taking previously illegally sold franchises that the seller called "dealerships", giving the dealer/franchisee a disclosure document and getting a release of claims from the dealer/franchisee. It makes some sense for the seller who either discovered he'd screwed up or who just always intended to sell illegally because he didn't have the money to comply with the law. It may clean up a mess for such a seller and if his "dealers" aren't unhappy with him (yet), they will probably go along compliantly.Post new comment
