Conversion Franchisee

Franchisors from time to time are able to convert independent businesses in their industry to join their franchise system. This is called a conversion franchisee.
The conversion franchisee changes their business name, adopts the franchise system's methods of operation and agrees to pay franchise fees. For example, an independent sign shop might convert over to the FastSigns franchise system. They would put up the new trademarks, make sure they have the proper equipment, follow the new operating standards and pay any conversion fees and ongoing royalties.
