Allphones To Pay $3 Million for Breach of Trade Practices Act

Justice Foster of Australia's Federal Court declared today that Allphones and its executives are to pay a total of A$3 million in damages for engaging in the following practices with current and past franchisees:

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is taking action against Refund Home Loans claiming the franchisor misled franchisees regarding a ‘special’ relationship with the ACCC.

Australia’s ACCC has instigated a contempt of Court action against franchisor Allphones. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is also representing 74 franchisees in a class action against their franchisor.
