When asked about rising food costs, franchisor Papa John's CEO John Schnatter brought up the non sequitur that he pays decent wages. Since New York's attorney general is currently probing the labor practices of Papa John's franchisees, what franchisees pay in wages is obviously on top of Mr. Schnatter's mind.
