Quiznos Settlement Finalized, among Highest Penalties in Franchise History

CHICAGO —Quiznos encountered a franchisee revolt so vast that it has been forced to settle, following years of litigation brought by literally thousands of its franchise owner-operators.

Vendor Requires Quiznos Franchisees Pay in Advance

The bodacious bird has spotted postings on the Toasted Subs Franchisee Association (TSFA) website, the independent trade group for Quiznos franchisees. Quiznos supplier HFS/Havi is now requiring that all Chicago market stores must prepay for their orders either by wire transfer or overnight cashier's check before their delivery is released.

Harsh Franchisors Spark Franchisee Wars

Franchisors are facing franchisee revolts. Some franchise salespersons, and reporters, are blaming it on this tough economy. For example, take UPS, a lawsuit festering for seven years, says CNNMoney.

Quiznos Class Actions Near Settlement

CHICAGO – Attorneys for Quiznos franchisees will appear before Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer in Illinois federal court on Friday at 10 a.m. to ask for preliminary approval for a class action settlement of all class lawsuits. Last September, plaintiffs in this case, Ilene Siemer v. The Quiznos Franchise Company, amended their complaint to bring all four actions suits before the court.
