Express Personnel

Just a warning:

1. If you want to spend all your capital buy one of these franchises.

2. If you want to be constantly worried about money buy this franchise.

3. If you want to give a franchise 40% and more of your gross profits before expenses buy one of these.

4. If you want to be treated like an employee/serf buy one of these as opposed to an an entrepenour buy this franchise.

5. If you are not in a small market without competition buy this franchise (really don't).

6. If you want to give the franchisor all your money buy one of these.

7. If you want a franchise that gives you no brand recognition buy Express.

8. If you want a low profit business buy Express.

9. If you want to be involved with a low margin business 24/7 buy Express.

10. Run don't walk from this franchise NOW!

Take it from one who knows.

Good luck!

THE WHOLE SURVEY - ALL THE QUESTIONS, PLEASE

May we please have all the qustions in the order in which they were asked?

Express Personnel easily scores in the top 5% of all Franchisors

In January 2006 we contacted 324 franchisees and completed interviews with 249 for a completion rate of 76.9%. Every franchisee was given the opportunity to participate in this survey as well as the surveys that we have completed for Express for the last four years. They have scored exceptionally well every time.

Survey data results in a bell curve and there is always a percentage at the low end of the curve. It’s simply not possible to make "all the people happy all the time".

Click-here for a copy of the survey report. Everyone can review the results and come to their own conclusions.

No Meat

This isn't much of a post. No meat. No fact. And nothing is known about the poster except he is an IT sales guy and not a franchisee.

For all we know, this is from a jealous competitor of Express.

But while we are on the subject, I must say I am impressed with a franchisor that tries hard to stand above the crowd and who has the mindset that examining the satisfaction level of their franchisees is important.

And for four years in a row so many of their franchisees really like them. How unusual is that?? I've always been of the opinion that if you want to know really what a father is like, ask his wife and teenage kids. It's a minor miracle if all say how wonderful he is.

Yep, I say the post if from a jealous competitor. Sour grapes.

Did you take the FranSurvey Franchisee Survey for Express

I'm curious as an Express Personnel franchisee did you take the survey that was conducted by FranSurvey? A quick results page can be found here on Blue MauMau Express Personnel Survey Results.

FranSurvey claims that Express Personnel is Franchisee Approved!

What are your impressions of the survey?

Surveys are Misleading or are they?

The motive for surveys by ZORS is suspect in itself because it is a way of having a conversation with the ZEES without having a conversation with the ZEES face to face in an open forum----with Richard Solomon in attendance as counsel for the ZEES.

I think surveys, like Polls, are suspect for the obvious reasons that have been put forth by posters but we have to accept that they must be of use to the ZORS or they wouldn't commission the surveys.

If ZORS commission surveys and they don't like the results, they just don't make them public. I think a poster suggested that MBE-UPS did not make a survey public, but I'm not sure about this.

Thanks Jeff...

Thanks Jeff for sharing the results of the survey with us.  Looks like very positive responses from a significant percentage of franchisees.

Without question Express Personnel is generally and widely accepted as being a good concept and a good franchisor.

Absolutely Correct!

Frankman -

You're absolutely correct!!  The last numbers I have at my fingertips are from 2005 but at the time they had give or take a handfull 500 locations --- system sales were $1.55 billion.

As far back as 1997 they had multi-unit owners averaging 3 to 4 million per location.

GROSS REV should not be confused with PROFITABILITY --- but the point is that Express Personnel is a viable concept - they do have good name recognition, and have always been generally accepted as a Very Good ZOR.

As I understand it --- there goal is to have 900 locations by 2009 doing $4 Billion, which is a nice average increase per location, which shows an anticipate increase per unit.

The franchise survey asks

The franchise survey asks the wrong questions. I believe that the survey was sent to hand picked franchisees.....but just my belief. This business is really tough to make money in and they continue to add franchises that cuts down on current owners ability to make money.

Survey Says...

75% of the franchisees responded to the survey, that doesn't sound "hand picked".

What questions would you suggest that it ask?

Give us a break

 Bob and Dale are right.

This guy has no facts. Just blanket statements. Nada. Notice how Bob and Dale use evidence to back up their observations. That's how we do it here.

And why is he posting it in Dear Franny? This is not a franchise question.

Hey, let's see if we can track what personnel company this sales guy (see his bio) comes from...

gimme a break

Believe what you want....this franchise has problems. I owned one of these franchises and it is not a good investment. I attended new owners class a few years back and none of the attendees/owners still are affiliated with this franchise from my class. So if you want facts I'll give you facts...the 40% you give to the franchisor is a killer and they certainly do not warrent anywhere near this type of split.

I know...I lived and breathed this for 4+ years. I am just trying to get people to really dive into research before buying this or any other franchise in the staffing industry. My two cents...and good luck

The question

If you had it to do all over again would you buy this franchise?

What Kind of Problems?

If you're a ZEE, could you be more specific about what kind of problems this ZOR has? Or the staffing industry has?

Did you look at the survey report??

The question that you are suggesting be asked is the third question on the survey report!?

Would you buy again

As I said before, I was in a room when I heard 10 out of 10 ansmwer this question NO.

Many franchisees are concerned about surveys and answer these surveys in less than candid ways. There is assurance that all is confidential but I'm not sure everyone buys it.

Good hunting!
