Flatulence Brings Down Plane

 Bomb Sniffing Dogs Discover Culprit

Sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction. Our franchisees in the travel industry will appreciate this story. An attack of flatulence brought 99 passengers on an American Airlines flight to an unscheduled visit to Nashville early Monday morning.

Passengers said they smelled burning matches, which caused the plane to land (no struck matches or fire are allowed on planes). After all passengers and luggage were brought off the plane, sure enough, the bomb sniffing dogs found the spent matches on a passenger. The FBI questioned the passenger who admitted she struck the matches in an attempt to conceal the smell of her flatulence in the confines of the cabin. She was not let back on the flight. Travel agents may want to teach travelers how to aim the airvents just right to blow unwanted bodily fumes far away to blend into a crowded plane -- or point to the other person and roll your eyes when someone looks from whence the fumes come.
