Franchise Ads of Superbowl XLII

Annual Superbowl Ads Showcase Franchising's Marketing Power

superbowl_xliiThere wouldn't be a Superbowl without franchising. After all, the two teams facing off in Superbowl XLII, the New England Patriots searching for the perfect season and the New York Giants, are sports team franchises. Business format franchisers are paying big bucks for their ads. Product distribution franchisers, such as Coca-Cola, spend to get sports watchers to consume their goods. And historically, franchisers typically outspend Superbowl's non-franchised advertisers.

According to American Association of Franchisees and Dealers Chairman Robert Purvin, who launched a Super Bowl ad survey 21 years ago, “Super Bowl advertising continues to demonstrate the power of franchising."

This year franchisers have needed to dish out some $2.7 million for a 30 second spot.

Blue MauMau showcases the Superbowl XLII ads each year.
