Franchise Fad or Here to Stay?

Franchise buyers often look for investments that explode on the scene. Concepts that are quickly growing make it easy to get on the buying bus. But the question is whether that bus with all its franchise passengers is driving off a cliff. "The latest idea always seems to have lots of sex appeal," says Jeff Elgin, founder of Minnesota franchise consulting company FranChoice. "That draws in otherwise intelligent buyers with the illusion that they are getting a strong business."
