In the course of our work, we at FranSurvey have determined that the single differentiating factor between high performing franchise brands and mediocre or poor performing brands is the quality of the franchise relationship.
We have found that the single greatest predictor of a franchisee’s success is the quality of their relationship with the franchise company. The franchisee must depend on the franchise company to provide expert guidance and assistance in setting up and running their franchise business. The more effective a franchise is at sharing its expertise, the greater the chances are that an individual franchisee will be successful. Conversely, if a franchise company neglects its franchise owners or fails to support them properly, it is likely that those owners are headed for failure.
FranSurvey was designed to give prospective franchisees a fair and unbiased evaluation of how effectively each franchise company supports its franchisees. The key to the FranSurvey approach is that we contact every franchisee and ask them about their relationship with the franchise company.
Using a survey methodology developed by Professor Dwayne Ball, a Ph.D. graduate from Ohio State University and a Fulbright Senior Scholar, we compile a rating for every participating franchise company. And to ensure that the rating is accurate, we require that a minimum of 70% of all franchisees participate in the survey.
