Georgia Court Says Zor Must Return Payroll Money
Waffle House took the franchise, but it can't take the payroll money, says a Georgia court.
A North Carolina news outlet reports that when the franchisor took back 34 restaurants, it also took over the checking accounts and used money earmarked for payroll and took it for other purposes. As a result, the employees had their payroll checks bounce.
In an emergency ruling, the state court judge ordered return of the money so that the workers could be paid.
