Get Help or Get Fleeced
The Answer to Getting Fleeced
Do you want to be one of the miserable victims of franchisors who take advantage of people who don’t know how to do due diligence on a franchise proposal and who won’t pay what it costs to get really competent due diligence on a franchise proposal?
If you do want to be somebody like that, don’t bother to read this post. Just get some cheapo lawyer who knows nothing about what he’s looking at to “read you the contract”, write the big check, sign the outrageous franchise contract, sign the long term lease that you personally guarantee, sign the loan documents by which you completely flush yourself and your family down the toilet when you finally figure out that you got robbed, and then come on here in BlueMauMau.org and blame everyone else for your impoverishment.
If you spend any time in here, you will see such people every day – wanting “justice” to free them from obligations freely undertaken when they were sure they were grown ups.
No matter what you do now, you are not competent to vet franchise propositions. They are not what they seem. The contracts are awful. That makes the quality of the deal critical. That’s what you are incapable of sorting out on your own. That’s what you local attorney who has little or no franchise experience is also incapable of sorting out. That’s what you accountant is incapable of sorting out.
The value of competent franchise due diligence is high. The price of competent franchise due diligence is not low. If you don’t want to pay for competence, you get what incompetence provides – bankruptcy. It’s your choice.
You probably do not want to become a fleeced, bankrupt franchisee of some flawed and/or abusive franchise. Stop listening to the sales pitch and pull your head out of your checkbook. Get help or get robbed.
There are just too many crooks out there hunting for you. You are not capable of sorting them out.
That is the lesson in here. Get help or get fleeced.
