Cappuccino for a Cause is Gloria Jean’s Coffees annual fundraising event where 50 cents from every cappuccino sold over one weekend in October is donated to a partnering charity. Franchise.net.au
GJ franchisees are a charitable bunch having lifted the 10c from the original campaign to a 50c donation.
For Gloria Jeans though it hasn’t always been such a ‘nice’ image where the GJ founder’s close association with Hillsong’s Mercy Ministries delivered some uncharitable media comment.
What many Aussies may not know, however, is that the church has it's share of skeletons, including the founder's father, who held senior positions in the church, but was forced to resign in 2000 "following exposure of his homosexual paedophile activities whilst ministering in New Zealand some thirty years earlier.
