Gold's Gym Says It Hears Franchisees

There are some unhappy franchisees in Gold's Gym International.  The franchisee association president Blair MCHaney wrote a letter to his members on July 7. McHaney claims that GGI does not see the value the franchisees bring to Gold's Gym system.

"GGI's philosophy is that the franchisor should have the answsers and will hand them downstream for franchisees to employ.  I suppose they see themselves as having diminished value if the answers are coming from franchisees.  I have news--- most every great innovation in other franchise organizations came from franchisees, and great franchisors recognize that."

This story written by Stuart Goldman called., "Can You Hear Me Now?"  Shows the importance of a good franchise association, GGFA.

McHaney says, "Communication is two things: You convey meaning and you gain understanding, and oftentimes, people mistake communication with just conveying meaning," McHaney says. "My hope is that we all take a deep breath here, that we listen to what each other has to say.  This isn't a negotiation. This is a time to find our strength, build it out together and make this brand as strong as it can be."

The two statements from GGFA President Blair McHaney reallys says it all. To read full article go to Fitness business pro.com.
