Hotel Guests and the Hassles They Face

What unnecessarily annoys hotel guests when they stay at a hotel? Thomas Sowell, a well-known economist at Stanford University, writes on a different topic for him, the aggravations he's encountered at hotels.

Few things can make you appreciate home like staying in a hotel. This includes not only low-budget, bare bones hotels but also sweepingly large and ornate luxury hotels. What many hotels seem to have in common are needless hassles.

What might those "needless hassles" be? The difficulty of using the various unfamiliar devices in a guest's hotel room, a problem that Sowell says can be easily remedied with some forethought on the part of the hotel management and staff.
