Is Curves actually chasing departed franchisees for ongoing royalty?

I read the recent string of posts that started with the story of two franchisees in Pennsylvania who Curves sued for ongoing royalty minimums after they quit Curves and converted their gyms to independent competitors.

I have a little different question.

Does anyone know if Curves is chasing people who just shut down and go back to 9 to 5 jobs?

The writers in the earlier string were right. Curves has ongoing minimum royalties and ad charges even if the franchisee has no sales. Are they chasing people who just want to go on with life and are not competing in violation of the noncompete agreements?

Thanks in advance for any input.
