Is Dunkin' Donuts Racist?

As discussed previously, some years back Dunkin' (then part of Allied Domecq) targeted Miami franchisee Omar Martinez and alleged improper hiring practices involving the I-9 forms. In Connecticut, I personally observed a Dunkin' that has a sign up (in Spanish only) warning applicants that any attempt to apply for a job will be reported to the federal government.

This morning (24 April 2007), El Diario's lead story is Sabor a Racismo (online version click here ) discussing Dunkin's sponsorship of an anti-Hispanic "shock jock" radio program. I don't argue with the right of a corporation or individual to approve of and even sponsor racist speech, however personally distasteful I may find it. But there is a huge distinction when one is a franchisor; and racism affects innocent franchisees.
