To all of the attornies who inhabit this humble website, care to comment on the impact of the passage of the Lilly Ledbetter legislation yesterday? Those who lobbied hard against the act felt that it would simply result in a flood of litigation benefitting trial lawyers and encumbering small business. Despite the significant efforts by, among others, the IFA, to derail this legislation, President Obama made it the first bill he signed into law. Thanks in advance for imparting your wisdom on this topic.....

This is a law that would eliminate gender based compensation in the workplace. Senator John McCain said that if women want better-paying jobs, they just need more "education and training." Then, he didn't even show up for the vote.
