McDonald's Director of Nutrition Interviewed
The director of nutrition for McDonald's USA, Dr. Cindy Goody, gives us a look at how the QSR giant approaches nutrition for its customers. She tells of a number of sources where the public can learn more about what they're eating when dining at McD's.
Surprising at least some of us, who don't think of the food giant as a place to get healthful food, Dr. Goody says,
. . . as a registered dietitian, I have an opportunity to translate that science [nutrition] so consumers can use it to improve their health and well-being.
Possibly in light of the recent San Francisco ban on toy giveaways for meals that don't meet the city's Board of Supervisors' definition of nutrition, Goody states,
McDonald’s is a charter member of the Council of Better Business Bureau’s Children's Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative, and we continue to play a leadership role in the development of standards that govern our advertising. It is something that we take very seriously. — Restaurant Nutrition
