McDonald's Same-Store Sales Rise 8.2 Percent
Despite a worldwide economic slump, McDonald's Corp. announced a big 8.2 percent rise in October same-store sales. McDonalds attributes its astronomical increase in same-store sales in part because of extended hours.
With a sales increase in Asia-Pacific at 11.5%, the company explained that "Locally-relevant menu choices, branded affordability, and extended hours fueled the segment's October sales."
That is a controversial strategy among some QSR franchisees, particularly a few Burger King owners who resisted extended hours. They recently lost their lawsuit.
