Midas Franchisee Cited by California Attorney General (Again)
In a press release dated June 30, the Attorney General details charges against the owner of a number of Midas repair shops in California. Interestingly, the same owner was found guilty of similar charges back in the late 1980's. One question that is raised is at what point should a franchisor step in to thwart and eliminate this type of behavior by a "bad apple"? Given the number of units this person has operated for decades, how much bad publicity and wrongdoing is required before the folks at Corporate are willing to shoot the cash cow?
