Franchisee Sued for Not Taking Effective Steps to Stop Manager From Having Sex with Underage Employee

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - A 15 year-old teenage girl, Jane Doe, is suing a McDonald's franchisee, Haronmar Inc., following a nearly year long sexual relationship she had with a store manager, Hector Figueroa, when he was 22. Figueroa admitted to police that he had a "consensual sexual relationship" with the plaintiff. Hector is currently on bond and faces felony charges of lewd and lascivious battery.

The suit against the franchisee alleges sexual harassment, and negligence in training, retention and the supervising of its managers. Doe's mother said she thought McDonald’s would be a safe place for her daughter to work. "It's a mother's worst nightmare," she said. "You'd think McDonald’s would be a reputable place."
